Our team has commenced with the repair work to replace and repair the fibre infrastructure. No etr at present.

Octotel Network Notice Update - East CBD Fibre Break - 21st September 2022

Dear Isp Partner, 

Octotel engineers are on site awaiting the area to be cleared safe to work in order to commence with the repair work. 

Octotel has located the fibre break however cannot commence with repairs until we have removed all rubble from the break location as we located additional breakage along the route. 

Please see additional photos on the fibrebreak location, we have managed to clear some rubble off parts of the damaged infrastructure. 

Octotel engineers are working to restore connectivity as a matter of urgency however do not have an etr at this time.

Dear Isp Partner,

Octotel is experiencing a fibre break on our network affecting customers in East Cbd located in the following roads:

Canterbury St
Constitution Street
Building: Skyways

Our onsite engineers have located the fibre break to a construction site on the corner of Commercial and Buitenkant street. Please see the attached photos for reference. 

Octotel engineers are unable to commence with the repair work until the site has been cleared safe to work. Our teams have been infomed we are able to commence with the cable repairs first thing tomorrow morning. 

Further updates to follow tomorrow morning at 8am. 

Octotel sincerely apologises for the inconvenience caused.
